Ivor’s a nasty piece of work who looks down his nose at everyone he plays, believing them to be far beneath his own standard. His grade will never improve because he doesn’t ever learn from his mistakes. However, we can learn from his mistakes!
The mistakes are all seen from Ivor’s viewpoint and you’ll be able to follow his faulty thought processes through some of these games.
He’s so awful I hope you find him funny but the underlying dire warnings about over-confidence and careless play are serious and you’ll do well to take them to heart.

Opening Disasters -

I really enjoyed this little book. There are five short games each containing a strong message about how not to play chess and in each case there's a link to an online active chess board (just like the author uses to great effect on his Dynamic Chess Course). Ivor Lograde isn't a very likeable character and reminds me of a chess player I once knew and tried to avoid! The book is both instructive and entertaining and I'm looking forward to reading the next one in the series.
